GeekSchool comes in six modules – each module four weeks long. One lesson delivered each day, with coaching calls throughout the week.

Module One: Organization

Start with the basics of organization – get all your stuff into the right place  and get it synchronized with your devices. At the end of Module One you’ll have a streamlined system for your communication, tasks, project management and calendars. You’ll save time, frustration and money using the tools we’ve researched and approved!

Module Two: Social Media

You, yes you, can become a social media ninja – mastering Facebook, Twitter, Email Marketing and YouTube. You’ll learn how to create a Facebook Fan Page, the new rules for pages and groups, best posting strategies, how to  find new fans and followers and the tools the pros use to make it easy to post quickly and not duplicate your efforts. At the end of Module Two, you’ll have a social media plan, ready for execution.

Module Three: WordPress

WordPress is, in our opinion, the best web publishing platform for travel professionals, period. From the simplicity of editing, to the power of themes, you’ll learn the ins and outs of WordPress while building a website. At the end of the course you’ll have a site to be proud of – and it’s yours to keep!

Module Four:  SEO & Paid Advertising Options

Facebook Advertising is effective – very effective, but not in the way you might think. In this module you’ll learn how to create ads, evaluate placement and monitor effectiveness You’ll also cover Google AdWords and WordTracker – two popular programs simple to use once you understand the basics. Rounding out this course we’ll delve deeper into MailChimp and the advantages of email marketing.

Module Five – Security, Privacy and Backups

Security is a huge issue – and threats are not limited to just your own personal computers. In this module we give you a great overview of how to “harden” your office security – no matter if your office staff is 1 or 1000. We cover offsite backup solutions, website backup solutions, privacy settings for common applications, safe browser settings, cookies and tweaks to keep your website, office and computers safe and threat-free.

Module Six – Customer Relationship Management

With the multiple ways of connecting with customers, how do you keep them straight? ClientBase, ClientEase, SalesForce, Batchbook – you’ve got some great choices – and they can be overwhelming. How do you choose the right one for your situation? This class is your answer. We’ll cover your choices – & initial setup, connecting to other systems and websites, getting information from your website to your CRM via forms and the extra power of widgets. When you’re finished you’ll know your options, have your data imported, and understand how to get your business optimized.
